BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Contra Nocendi is an international human rights NGO (Non-Governmental Organisation) based in Paris that focuses on advancing human rights protections and the rule of law in Africa. We work closely with partner organisations, government officials and activists to facilitate the necessary respect for human rights. The organisation also works to monitor human rights and to help augment the monitoring capacities of local NGOs.

Our current projects include expanding a monitoring consortium for treatment in detention in Burundi and setting up a law clinic in the city of Buea in Cameroon. Both projects are needed to protect the human rights of vulnerable groups who are at risk to violence, discrimination and not being able to access legal services. We are in the start up phases of these projects and need one volunteer to help set up our website and expand our online presence and profile.
