World Concern recrute un assistant financier à Gozbeida au Tchad

 

Context :

We serve nearly 6 million people in 18 countries, focusing on food security, child protection, education, maternal and child health, microfinance, vocational training, clean water and sanitation and disaster response.

Position : Finance Assistant

Location : Gozbeida

Supervises : None

Length of Contract : 1 year- renewable

 

Purpose :

To provide overall project accounting support to the projects in Chad offices and represent World Concern in a professional manner to all guests, visitors, vendors, staff and beneficiaries- stakeholders in general. Manage the field office payments.

 

Responsibilities :

  1. Payment and deposit of cash and checks, handling of day to day cash transactions including petty cash and checks ;
  2. Maintain proper filing systems of all cash payment documents and ensure accounting records are kept updated ;
  3. Maintain optimum cash balances and request for cash replenishments ;
  4. Maintain a cash book and perform daily cash reconciliation and cash counts on a weekly and monthly basis with Project managers ;
  5. Ensuring that all payments incurred are adequately supported ;
  6. Do monthly timely financial reports to the Finance Manager for compilation by the 20th Day of each month or as may be requested from time to time ;
  7. Scanning all the monthly reports before sending them to Nairobi ;
  8. Do a cash request for the project on a monthly basis ;
  9. Carry out periodical price surveys to establish or identify prices of goods, services ;
  10. Compiling and sending all the original procurement and financial documents to the Nairobi office ;
  11. Managing the office petty cash ;
  12. Maintaining an updated office filing system for the Chad office, projects and general files and generating a record of the same ;
  13. Create, distribute and follow up the procedure of Time Sheets and giving orientation to the new staff on finance ;
  14. Any other activities that may legitimately be assigned to you. 

 

Qualifications & Experience :

  1. Degree in Financial Accounting or B.Com or any other related field ;
  2. 2 Years Experiences as Cashier Accountant ;
  3. Minimum Qualifications in Book Keeping with supporting project experience ;
  4. International NGO experience is highly desired ;
  5. Knowledge of Donor Funds Management and reporting ;
  6. Must have good computer skills in Microsoft Office; especially MS Excel ;
  7. Strong work ethic and commitment ;
  8. Good interpersonal and relationship management skills ;
  9. Attention to detail ;
  10. Goal oriented and has the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines ;
  11. Fluency in spoken and written English is desirable.

Working conditions/ Environment :

  1. The position is based in Gozbeida ;
  2. The Gozbeida office has a multicultural work environment ;
  3. The office is open Monday-Friday between 8.00 a.m.- 5.00pm ;
  4. The job may require the person to work extra hours to meet deadlines ;
  5. Multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment ;
  6. Periods of unsocial working hours requiring flexibility ;
  7. Basic office environment with periodic disruption of power, internet etc ;
  8. High health and hygiene standards need to be maintained ;
  9. Drug free environment including alcohol and tobacco.
