About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced Senior Internal Auditor to become part of our high performing Internal Audit team.  In this role you will provide high quality risk and assurance services to Management and the Board. You will be integral to ensuring the maintenance of our internal control systems that safeguard the assets, financial, commercial and information systems of the Virgin Australia Group.

Other key responsibilities will include :

• Developing and maintaining effective channels of communication with the various stakeholders in the business to ensure that value- add information on the effectiveness of risk management, governance and the control environment, is exchanged ;
• Responding to ad hoc management requests, conduct internal fraud investigations and participate in special projects, as required .

This is a challenging « hands on » role that will provide you with diversity and the opportunity to play a significant role in the development and mentoring of other team members.  This role is instrumental in driving the continuous improvement of internal processes and the knowledge-base within the wider team.

What you’ll need:

• Professionally qualified Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, or Certified Information System Auditor ;
• Comprehensive knowledge of internal audit operations within a commercial environment ;
• Breadth of knowledge and experience in assurance provision at a similar organisation to Virgin Australia and an eagerness to always upgrade this knowledge and skills to keep pace with the rapid business and industry changes ;
• Ability to innovate and evolve the appropriate approaches to audit provision, audit reporting and other associated deliverables, data analytics, and continuous monitoring ;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills .
