Virgin Australia recruits a Procurement Strategy and Governance Advisor – Brisbane
Context :
The Procurement Strategy and Governance Advisor is an exciting role which has responsibility for supporting the Strategy and Governance team to undertake business improvement and development projects, provide reporting of Group Procurement’s progress and evolution, maintenance of procurement systems and provide training and learning workshops. It is also an exciting time to join Virgin Australia Group Procurement, as we transform the function to a more strategic model, enabling us to excel in our support to all entities within the Virgin Australia Group of Companies, including Virgin Australia Airlines, VARA and Group Cargo, Tigerair Australia and Velocity Frequent Flyer.
This role has responsibility for supporting the Strategy & Governance teams and the wider Group Procurement through coordination and stakeholder management skills, coordination, business improvement and project management support including performing activities such as:
- Support the coordination of new or redesigned procurement practice rollouts across Group Procurement and the broader Group;
- Develop, assist and/or facilitate Group Procurement and broader VA Group procurement training and learning workshops;
- Analyse ways of working to identify areas to improve accuracy, effectiveness, compliance and/or efficiency.
- Provide consistent and high level of customer service across all stakeholder engagements.
- Drive continuous improvement through ongoing problem solving, analysis, information gathering and feedback from key stakeholders;
- Maintain procurement systems, customisation and improvements;
- Develop and support preparation for Group Procurement reporting, including monthly pipeline reports, balanced score card and benefits realisation.

What you’ll need :
- 3+ years’ experience in an procurement or cross-functional business role;
- Sound problem solving and communication skills;
- Strong business development skills and able to demonstrate excellence in:
- Structured assessment and drawing conclusions from various sourcing of information;
- Conversion of information to insights;
- Ability to relay information back to varied audiences.
- Strong computer literacy skills;
- Experience in projects delivery of medium complexity;
- Ability to manage multiple and competing stakeholder expectations and relationships;
- Tertiary qualifications in finance / commerce / accounting.
