Get to know the role :

Our Perth based Manager, Safety Assurance plays a critical role in managing and promoting our formal risk-based systems, audit program and investigations for operational accidents and incidents. This role works closely with our regional senior leadership team to guide, support and advise on best practice and statutory obligations. In doing so, the Manager, Safety Assurance will ensure that the business is fully engaged in compliance issues, audit activity and the identification of operational risk. Leading a team of Auditor and Investigators, this role will oversee team priorities, model leadership behaviours, coach and mentor team members to achieve individual and whole-team objectives.

In addition, this role will also involve :

• Taking a ‘whole of operations view’ in the establishment of systems focussed assurance activity that will clearly highlight areas for improvement prioritised by risk.
• Maintaining contemporary knowledge of all applicable safety legislation, standards and practices.

In addition, you will also hold :

• Previous experience in leading and coaching diverse technical teams ;
• Experience managing RPT and charter operations from a Safety Management, Flight Operations, Engineering or Airport Operations perspective ;
• Lead Auditor qualifications with experience managing internal airline audits as the Lead Auditor ;
• Established analysis and presentation skills (safety related preferable) ;
• A proven ability to apply your skills in a rapidly changing, fast paced environment ;
• Extensive knowledge of all applicable safety legislation, standards and practices ;
• Proven experience in managing audit programs ;
• Proven experience in investigative writing.

A tertiary level qualification in an aviation related discipline is highly desirable, however not essential.
