About Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (VARA) :

VARA operates out of Perth Airport and has a fleet of F100 aircraft and A320 aircraft that predominantly conduct charter operations to regional Western Australia. VARA has continued to operate through COVID-19 and beyond to support our major clients in the mining industry and the future is exciting and prosperous.

 

The Role :

Virgin Australia Regional Airlines Continuing Airworthiness Maintenance Organisation (CAMO) team is responsible for ensuring all Virgin Australia Regional Airlines aircraft maintain regulatory compliance and high operational performance standard with safety at the forefront.

The objective of the of the Airworthiness Officer/Engineer (AE) role is to perform and ensure the aircraft Approved Maintenance Program (AMP) is up-to-date with amendments from the Aircraft Manufacturers, Regulatory Authorities, Vendors and Airworthiness & Fleet Engineering sections within VARA. The AE is responsible for ensuring that all AMP Tasks are entered as Engineering Controls and Task Cards in the CAMO Maintenance Information System (MIS) as required and are scheduled correctly.

The AE is also responsible for ensuring the continuing airworthiness records of each aircraft are examined and determine that the requirements of CASR (1998) Subpart 42.I are met in order to issue or extend an Airworthiness Review Certificate.  The AE is required to record and report any discrepancies and ensure appropriate action is taken before the issue or extension of an Airworthiness Review Certificate.

 

About You :

To be successful, you will :

  • Have a qualification in aircraft maintenance at least at Certificate IV level or equivalent; or
  • Hold an aircraft engineer license in category B1, B2 or C;, equivalent; or
  • Have an engineering qualification at least at diploma level in any of the following disciplines: aeronautical; avionics; mechanical; electrical; electronics
  • At least 2 years’ experience in an airworthiness role.

And be able to demonstrate :

  • Continuous improvement and strategic focus ;
  • Critical thinking and analysis ;
  • Organisational and Social Commitment ;
  • An understanding of reliability-based aircraft maintenance systems ;
  • A thorough knowledge of Australian aviation regulations for aircraft maintenance.
