A rare opportunity has become available for a part-time Load Controller to join our Flight Planning Services team.

About the role :

As a Load Controller you will be responsible for ensuring that accurate weight and balance data is generated in order to support safe, compliant and efficient flight operations, with an objective of transporting our guests’ and payload in accordance with our airline’s operating schedule.

Positioned within the Virgin Australia Operations Control Centre (OCC), this shift-based opportunity will see you working closely with our key operational stakeholders, which includes pilots, flight dispatchers, operations controllers, airport staff and cargo.

About you :

To be successful in this role you will have knowledge of the principles of weight and balance and their application in a commercial airline environment. You will also demonstrate :

• Understanding of aircraft performance for high capacity aircraft and how this relates back to weight and balance measures ;
• Ability to work autonomously ;
• Strong organisational skills and excellent time management skills ;
• Focus on, and commitment to, quality of work output.

The successful applicant will receive training to the high standards maintained within our Flight Planning Services department.
