US Embassy Niamey reccruits    a Receptionist – Niamey (Niger)

Context :

WELCOME TO THE NEW ELECTRONIC RECRUITMENT APPLICATION – THE NEW WAY TO APPLY FOR JOBS AT UNITED STATES EMBASSY NIAMEY

U.S. Embassy Niamey is pleased to announce the start of a new Electronic Recruitment Application (ERA) in March 2019.

ERA is an electronic applicant management system powered by Monster.com that automates the Embassy’s recruitment process. This is the new and only way to now apply for jobs at the Embassy.

 

What is changing?

  • All U.S. Embassy vacancy announcements will be posted electronically on the new internet-based ERA;
  • All job applicants must apply using the internet interface (no paper applications will be accepted).

Getting started :

Go to the U.S. Embassy Niamey office website at https://ne.usembassy.gov/embassy/ and select Jobs at the Embassy.

Click on current vacancies to access our ERA Welcome Page.

Identify the job you are interested in and click on ‘View’ to access the related vacancy announcement. You will be able to apply by selecting ‘Apply to this Vacancy’, featured at the top of each vacancy announcement.

The first time you access the ERA Login Page, you will be required to click on ‘Create an Account’ and will thus be prompted to the ‘Account Creation’ page. Fill in the blanks as required (mandatory fields are marked by a red *), and make sure you note down your password and the answers to your three Secret Questions.

Once your account is officially created, a confirmation via an automatically generated email will be sent to you. You will be assigned an ID, associated with your Email address. Please save this information for future reference so that you will always be able to get back into the system. The ID/email address and your password will indeed allow you to log into the ERA system from that moment on.

Clicking ‘Done’ will lead you back to the ERA Login Page, where you will now be able to use your newly-created credentials. You will then be guided through your application form.

Duration Appointment:   Indefinite subject to successful completion of probationary period

The work schedule for this position is : Full Time (40 hours per week)

Duties :

This position is staffed under the Information Management Office of the Management Section. The Information Management Officer provides day-to-day supervision. Duties are divided between serving as a receptionist and switchboard operator. The office is located at the main entrance of the Embassy in order to provide information and assistance to visitors.

Qualifications :

Education :

Completion of Secondary school (BAC) is required.

EExperience :

 Two years of clerical experience. Must have knowledge of how to place local and international telephone calls via local telecommunications. 

Job knowledge:

Must have knowledge of all USG organizations with Embassy representation. Must maintain current list of employees in order to direct calls to correct offices. Must be updated on current DOS security procedures. 

 Language:

Level III (Good working knowledge). Speaking/reading/writing English; Level IV (Fluent) Speaking/reading/writing French; Level III spoken Hausa and Zarma. This may be tested.
