Main responsibilities and tasks
Ensure quality and timely donor reporting
- Support the sections in developing donor reports in a timely manner.
- Conduct donor report quality control to ensure conformity with the proposal, funds utilization and planned results. Review, edit and advise on layout and contents of the donor reports in cooperation with programme sections.
- Ensure timely submission of donor reports. Maintain a donor reporting schedule and provide timely reminders to the sections to ensure that all donor reports are sent on time. Alert systematically the senior management (Representative and Deputy Representative) to ensure the respect of the submission deadlines
- Update and maintain donor reporting guidance and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), based on global guidance and the Chad office needs.
- Ensure programme sections and field offices are kept up-to-date with donor conditionality and it is respected. Organize training to improve staff capacity on donor reporting and knowledge management.
Support emergency reporting and fundraising
- In collaboration with the Emergency Section, programme section chiefs and officers in N’Djamena and the field, collect inputs, consolidate, edit and finalise monthly Situation Reports (SitRep) and ensure timely submission to EMOPS.
Ensure development of quality funding proposals
- Support the sections in developing proposals in a timely manner.
Support direct, proactive and strategic approach to partnership
- Contribute to developing advocacy and fundraising tools, such as NatCom tool kits and Fact Sheets.
- Support the Deputy Representative and section chiefs to compile and produce mandatory UNICEF reports.

How can you make a difference?
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
Advanced university degree in International Relations, Public Relations, Marketing or related field. A first University Degree with a relevant combination of academic qualifications and experience may be accepted in lieu of Advanced University Degree.
At least five years practical professional work experience in donor relations, reporting, partnerships, communication or related field
Strong demonstrated experience in donor reporting required. Proven ability to synthesize and powerfully convey messages and good knowledge and understanding of UNICEF programmatic work and principles will be an advantage
Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with close attention to detail
Strong proficiency in both English and French (spoken and written)
Solid experience in the usage of computers and office software programmes and experience in handling web-based management systems.

Conditions of work
Duration of the assignment

General Conditions: Procedures and Logistics
The consultant will work in UNICEF Chad office
UNICEF will provide other supplies directly related to the task, for the consultancy’s duration.
Final payment to the consultant will depend on the completion of deliverables as well as hand over notes and submission of the completion of consultancy evaluation.
UNICEF will provide the following support to facilitate the work of the consultant:
UNICEF will cover the cost of return economy class airfare from place of residence of the consultant to Chad.
Both parties should be aware that:
The consultant is not entitled to payment of overtime. All remuneration must be within the contract agreement.
No contract may commence unless the contract is signed by both UNICEF and the consultant.
Consultant will have to complete the online basic and advance security training prior to travel to Chad.
Signed contract copy or written agreement must be received by the office before the consultancy can be undertaken by the consultant.
UNICEF is not responsible for insurance cover for the consultant, a waiver in the event of injury while executing the duty is required from the consultant.
The consultant will not have supervisory responsibilities or authority on UNICEF budget.
The consultant will be required to document that they have appropriate health insurance, including Medical Evacuation.
The consultant will be required to take the mandatory sexual harassment in the workplace and the ethics online training courses.
Remarks:
Mobility is a condition of international professional employment with UNICEF and an underlying premise of the international civil service.
