Description :
- The African Development Bank now invites Individual Consultants to express their interest for in the following Assignment: Financial Sector Advisor, within MFW4A Secretariat.
- The consultant will be part of the MFW4A Team and will report to the MFW4A Coordinator. Specifically, his/her functions and responsibilities are, but not limited to:
- Design and lead implementation of the thematic work programmes, including identification of priority issues and key partners and development of new products / tools to address these issues within the limits of MFW4A’s mandate;
- Identify and recruit member to join the partnership and contribute to the work programme, through network, working groups, knowledge resources and advocacy;
- Build and maintain relationships with development partners and the African financial sector. Identify, promote and actively facilitate joint initiatives between all stakeholders, in accordance with MFW4A’s strategy;
- Produce knowledge products (thematic briefs, articles, publications, etc.) in their thematic areas and ensure the quality of third-party contributions to / content on MFW4A portal, in collaboration with the Knowledge Management Team, MFW4A partners / members and external parties;
- Support the Coordinator with strategy development and implementation including fund raising, supervision of junior staff and leading the development and implementation of Secretariat wide initiatives;
- Ensure, in collaboration with the other Financial Sector Advisors and the Knowledge Management Team, that due regard is paid within the Partnership to cross-cutting issues such as gender finance, green finance and consumer protection; and
- Serve as an ambassador for MFW4A generally and representing the Secretariat high-level fora and meetings as required.
- The candidate should have at least a Master Degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields with eight (08) years of relevant experience relevant with a strong emphasis on financial sector development issues. including experience in the design and delivery of technical assistance and/or investment. Prior experience working in the African financial sector would be an advantage.
- Interested Individual Consultants must provide information on their capacity and experience indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (Resume, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills, etc.).
- Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the “Rules and Procedures for the use of Consultants”, for projects financed under the African Development Bank window, May 2008 edition, revised in July 2012 which is available on the Bank’s website at (http://www.afdb.org) The Bank is under no obligation to shortlist any consultant who expresses interest.
- The assignment will have a duration of twelve (12) months, renewable upon successful completion of the assigned tasks. The position is located within the MFW4A Secretariat in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. The commencement date is planned for June 15th, 2019.
