ALN Communication, Advocacy and Partnership Consultant :

1. The Department of Human Capital, Youth, Skills Development of the African Development Bank hereby invites Individual Consultants to indicate their interest in the following position :

ALN Communication, Advocacy and Partnership Consultant ;

2. The African Leaders for Nutrition (ALN) initiative was established in November 2015 as an initiative of President Akinwumi Adesina of the African Development Bank, in partnership with H. E. former Ghanaian President John Kufuor, former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Dangote Foundation, and the Global Panel for Agriculture and Food Systems for Nutrition.

The Secretariat of the ALN, which is hosted by the African Development Bank at the Human Capital, Youth and Skills Development Department (AHHD) under the Vice presidency of Agriculture and Social Development, provides strategic, planning, technical, operational, monitoring and reporting support to the initiative.

The selected consultant will carry out the following activities :

The Communication, Advocacy and Partnership Consultant collaborates closely with the entire ALN Team, national governments and partners to develop and implement ALN’s communications strategy. The Communication, Advocacy and Partnership Consultant ensures that the public is informed about ALN’s activities and projects; and serves as principal liaison with the outside world. The Communication, Advocacy and Partnership Consultant supports ALN Secretariat in the achievement of its communications

objectives by producing and disseminating public information about country programmes/projects/activities, educating and promoting a better understanding of ALN initiative, and serves as the primary point of contact and liaison for information requests.

3. The Department of Human Capital, Youth, Skills Development of the African Development Bank invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services as described below in the terms of reference. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.) ;
4. Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s Procurement Policy and Procedures for the acquisition of consulting services funded by the administrative or capital expenditure budget. Please note that the African Development Bank Group is under no obligation to shortlist any individual consultant who expresses interest. It is expected that interested individual consultants shall already be registered or register in the Bank’s DACON System for consultants. 5. The position will be based in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. The duration of services is 12 months. The estimated starting date is 1^st July 2019 ;

Establishment of the short list:

8. A shortlist of three to six individual consultants will be established at the end the request of expressions of interest. The consultants on the shortlist will be judged on the following criteria on the basis of their updated resume :

• Level of education in general ;
• Educational level compared to the field of mission :

• • Years of experience in general ;
  • Number of years of experience relevant to the mission.
