Role Purpose :

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, organising, managing, coordinating, monitoring and evaluation of Save the Children’s CHANGES project (Challenging harmful attitudes and norms for gender equality and empowerment) in Galkaio. The job holder will be responsible for the daily management oversight (including budget and human resources management) of the project implementation. The Project Manager also takes part in CP/CRG project design and fundraising efforts at field level. The jobholder will also specifically work and manage the local implementing partner of project.

Contract Duration : One Year.

Location : Galkio/Garowe

Qualifications and Experience :

• Minimum undergraduate degree in child rights, social science or related field; training and experience in child protection including in emergencies and project planning and management techniques, is expected ;
• Substantial experience (at least five years) in development and management of diverse child protection and child rights governance programmes in INGOs in developing country ;
• Proven experience of developing and managing high quality, innovative and cost-effective technical child protection projects in fragile and insecure environments, preferably in Somalia context and with International NGOs ;
• Proven skills and experience in planning/undertaking assessments and writing of quality project proposals ;
• Strong knowledge and experience in designing M&E frameworks (systems and tools) for CP/CRG projects ;
• Knowledge and experience of project cycle management including stakeholder participation in project appraisal, monitoring and evaluation.
