We are currently recruiting a dynamic and self sufficient Park Manager, for a Non-Profit organisation focused on wildlife conservation.  The position is based in Ennedi, Chad and the incumbent of this role must be fluent in French and English as well as hold a pilot license. As the Park Manager you will oversee a growing team and will report directly to the Operations Director.

Purpose of role:

The Park Manager will be responsible for managing the global park unit. This will entail overseeing the  management of people, equipment and funding for the implementation of general strategy of the organisation.

Key responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Implement the decisions of the company Board of directors
  • Provide assistance to administrative, financial and operational departments
  • Represent the Foundation Board, without voting rights
  • Implement annual work plan, annual budgets and five year Business Plan as approved by the Board of Directors
  • Present strategy, results, budgets, activities and plans to the National board meeting and Governance council (2 times/year)
  • Recruit team to implement operational plans and budgets
  • Provide career management to contracted staff as well as the daily organisation of their work, holidays and evaluation of their performance
  • Follow up and monitoring the implementation of agreements and contracts
  • Identify and propose development principles, management and regulation of the company
  • Submit plans for recovery and sustainable development relating to the natural and cultural aspects of the company
  • Head Management of all technical departments including finance, admin, legal and logistic
  • Promote and maintain good working relationships with all stakeholders concerned including; government, local communities and donors

Key qualifications (but not limited to):

  • 8-10 years of experience ( minimum).
  • Pilot license (obligatory) – applications lacking in this aspect will not be considered
  • University degree in Business Management, or Logistics/Procurement;
  • Finance background;
  • Ability to mentor staff, leadership and people management skills
  • Long term experience working in Sahelo-Saharan areas (preferable)
  • Demonstrable experience managing and working in multi-cultural context
  • Strong willingness to live in a rural setting and very remote area
  • Very good understanding of specificity of natural and cultural problematic of Sahelo-Saharan areas;
  • Fluent in French and in English (written and spoken) ; Arabic knowledge would be appreciate.
