The Government of Sudan, has applied for financing from the African Development Fund toward the cost of the Sustainable Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project in North & South Kordofan, and intends to apply part of the proceeds to cover eligible payments under the contract for Consultancy Services for the Design and Supervision of Works for Water Supply Infrastructure.
The services included under this project are :
- Baseline study on the status of water and sanitation services in target areas of North and South Kordofan states ;
- Water demand projection of targeted rural towns and villages in target areas ;
- Design of water supply infrastructure – water transfer schemes, water yards, hafirs, seasonal flow storage reservoirs ;
- Supervision and contract administration of the works contracts related to the water supply infrastructures;
- Support to the project implementation unit (PIU) on technical and financial supervision in order to ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with contract specifications; and
- Implementation and monitoring of the environmental and social management plan (ESMP)
The Drinking Water& Sanitation Unit (DWSU) of the Ministry of Water Resources, Irrigation & Electricity now invites eligible consulting firms (“consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing above services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may constitute joint-ventures to enhance their chances of qualification.
Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s “Procurement Policy for Bank Group Funded Operations” dated October 2015, which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org. Interested consultants may obtain further information at the address below during office hours: 09:00 to 15:00 hrs (Sudan time).
Expressions of interest must be delivered to the address below or by Electronic Mail by 27 May 2019 at 12:00 and mention “Consultancy Services for the Design and supervision of works for water supply systems”.
