Get to know the role :

We do this through offering innovative and everyday reward points and offers in conjunction with our broad range of partners.  We now have an exclusive career opportunity for an Airline Partnership Specialist to join our Sydney team. This is a key role within our Airline Partnerships team, and your opportunity to lead in a strategic partnership portfolio.  Your success in this position will be based on your superior ability to drive strategic relationships and commercial success of the portfolio, ensuring partner retention and growth and driving a mutually beneficial outcome for the partner and for Velocity.

Key responsibilities  :

• Maintain and implement loyalty agreements on behalf of Virgin Australia and Velocity Frequent Flyer and the partner airline and its associated loyalty program ;
• Provide input into regulatory authorisation processes, e.g. Anti-Trust Immunity submissions ;
• Work with the airline partner to understand their commercial and strategic objectives whilst identifying improvements ;
• Lead commercial working groups across Virgin and Velocity to ideate, develop and implement innovative products and brand and retail campaigns to drive Virgin Australia and partner airline sales ;
• Provide post-campaign reporting to all relevant stakeholders and suggestions for future improvements ;
• Brief the Loyalty Operations team on impact of contractual or airline operational changes on loyalty systems and work with all stakeholders to implement ;
• Prepare budgets and provide ongoing reporting on partner financial performance ;
• Agree and track KPIs for measurement of partnership performance ;
• Develop content for senior stakeholder meetings and align with counterparts at the partner airline .

This is a critical role in the Velocity Commercial Partnerships team where you will be working with some of our key clients to provide great opportunities to our members. The ideal candidate will have :

• Experience in strategic partner development, and strong commercial acumen ;
• Proven relationship management capability ;
• Proven influencing and negotiation skills whilst working with multiple stakeholders ;
• Strong interpersonal, analytical and verbal reasoning skills ;
• Planning, budgeting and reporting experience .

Desirable skills would be :

• Understanding of the commercial dynamics of the airline industry ;
• Working knowledge of how loyalty programs support airlines ;
• Airline systems and operational delivery understanding and experience ;
• People leadership skills ;
• Tertiary qualifications in a related field .
