Aircraft Maintenance Controllers are responsible for providing technical dispatch of Canadian North aircraft in accordance with applicable Canadian airworthiness standards.

Responsibilities :

  • Demonstrate knowledge of employee responsibilities regarding safety and actively participate in the Company’s Safety Management Systems program ;
  • Overseeing and support of the maintenance control system ensuring all aspects are met to support technical dispatch of the aircraft ;
  • Plan and issue work packages to the approved AMO, in order to comply with the approved maintenance schedule, mandatory airworthiness limitation requirements and deferred defects ;
  • Defect control including MEL deferred defects in accordance with the MCM :
  • Ensuring work accomplished on the aircraft supports technical dispatch requirements by review of the completed aircraft work order prior to dispatch ;
  • Full authority to remove aircraft from operational status ;
  • Apply for MEL extension and Flight permit signing issuance in accordance with the Canadian North MCM ;
  • Communication of technical dispatch allowance ;
  • Support for development and maintaining the Canadian North MCM ;
  • Secondary support for Evaluation Program, Reliability Program and providing training as required ;
  • Heavy check planning and support ;
  • Other duties as assigned and/or department specific.

Qualifications :

  • Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License with E or M2 Rating ;
  • Preference given to persons with B737 and Dash 8 experience and training ;
  • Excellent interpersonal and time management skills ;
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment and on special projects ;
  • Strong computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
