- The African Development Bank (AfDB) hereby invites Consulting Firms to indicate their interest in the following Assignment : DEVELOPMENT OF ANALYTICAL REPORTS AND DASHBOARDS RELATED TO OPERATIONS DELIVERY.
- The service required under the envisaged assignment will include mainly the following tasks :
Since 2017, the African Development Bank has made significant progress in developing automated business intelligence reports for institutional performance management and decision-making. Through a strategic partnership between the Business Intelligence (BI) Team within the IT Department and the Delivery, Performance Management and Results Department, the Delivery Dashboard was developed and successfully rolled out to meet core Operations performance management requirements.
The purpose of the Delivery Dashboard is to provide performance updates in critical priority areas of the Bank in real time in support of Management decision making. The Delivery
Dashboard is also an enabler of the Bank’s Decentralization program by empowering
Regional and Country Teams with timely data analytics to drive delivery and performance improvement.
Currently the Delivery Dashboard is actively used across the Bank, at Headquarters, in Regional hubs and Country Offices to manage the delivery of the lending program and the performance of the active portfolio. Additional features under development include Quality Assurance and Process Efficiency metrics.
Building on this momentum, the joint team is considering additional investments on three critical fronts :
- Breadth : expanding the scope of the Delivery Dashboard to automate additional performance areas critical to the Bank’s delivery agenda ;
- Depth : deepening the level of analysis available in each performance area in response to Regional/Country Office requirements and needs ;
- Effectiveness : enhancing features to alert and prompt action.
The services required under the assignment include the following:

| Requirements Analysis | – Organize workshop with users to collect Requirements – By domain, provide the list of reports to update, create and archive. Provide a document analysis of the solution with the list of objects, the target data model, data mapping sources and star model, reports and graph description |
| ETL development between SAP and external relational or decisional databases | – Mapping data sources and targets according to the recommended tool (SAP PI or Talend) Development of the ETL |
| Development of analytical reports, dashboards and portals | – Development mainly under OBIEE and VA – Possibly develop under SAP BI Suite – Include mobile enablement into the solution |
| Validation of Results | – Validate with users that the data is correct in the target system and that reports and graphs are in line with expectations and user specifications |
| Online user guide and technical documentation Knowledge Sharing | – Create a user guide for end user – Create technical document for maintenance – Work closely with BI Team and provide necessary training or assistance |
- The Corporate IT Services Department (CHIS) invites eligible firms to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested eligible Consulting Firms or associations of Consulting Firms shall provide information on their qualifications and experience demonstrating their ability to provide the services (documentation, references for similar services, experience in comparable Assignments, availability of qualified staff, etc.).
- The eligibility criteria, the establishment of a short list and the selection procedure shall be in conformity with the Bank’s Rules and Procedure for the Use of Corporate Consultants. Please, note that interest expressed by a Consulting Firm does not imply any obligation on the part of the Bank to include it in the shortlist.
- The duration of the assignment is expected for 12 months.
