Sponsorship Coordinator

Location: Kwekwe Program Area

 

Job Description

Reporting to the Program Area Manager, the Sponsorship Coordinator is responsible for leading and managing community managed Building Relations (BR) production and communication processes.  The incumbent has a working relationship with the Sponsorship Support Manager for technical support.

Accountabilities

  • Through sustained quality communications from Communities to the sponsors, he/she ensures that the Program Area (PA) Long-term Plans have a sustainable funding base for its programs ;
  • Works with Sponsorship Assistant and Program Facilitators to ensure compliance with corporate systems, policies and procedures as per the Sponsorship Book ;
  • Provide visionary leadership, coaching for results and support to Sponsorship Assistants in the achievement of their targets as well as in their individual development and performance ;
  • Build and oversee Plan accountability to Sponsored Children and their families with particular attention to sponsorship quality and timely production of all documents and the effective participation of children in Plan processes to meet the Sponsorship Commitments.
  • Coordinate and implement the community managed sponsorship model to comply with Plan international, Child centred community development approach ;
  • Facilitates sponsor visits at the PA to ensure National office and Child protection interests are fully observed ;
  • Entering and processing sponsored child gifts in the system within 10 working days of receipt and are then dispatched to the field with support from Program Facilitators ;
  • Enter and process Sponsored child updates/Sponsored child introductions in ChildData ;
  • National Office Inquiries management ;
  • Managing sponsorship budget ;
  • Timely production of quarterly and monthly sponsorship reports ;
  • Ensure existence of controls for proper risk management in sponsorship ;
  • Facilitates trainings of communities, families, children, Community based Organizations, community leaders and volunteers in Community Managed Sponsorship and also conduct home visits on sponsored children absent on roll calls.

Other key deliverables including:

Adherence to Plan policies, including:

  • Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding of Children & Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in Social Sciences, Communications, Marketing or related field ;
  • An additional qualification  in Public relations will be an added advantage ;
  • 3 years’ experience in sponsorship preferably in an NGO ;
  • Experience in community capacity building and child rights programming.

  • Riding skills (added advantage) ;
  • Proficiency in computer skills.
