All over the world girls are at risk because of their young age and their gender. They are at risk of being denied the opportunity to access a secondary education, to gain the skills and training they need to work and to exercise control over their sexual and reproductive health. They are at risk of being married before the age of 18. They are at risk of violence and harassment from men and boys in every space they occupy, including their home, their school, their refugee camp and their city.

Strengthening Monitoring Evaluation and Research and Knowledge Management (MER & KM) function is one of the significant current initiatives across Plan International to help to transform the lives of 100 million girls so that they can learn, lead, decide and thrive throughout the world. MER function supports to enhance programme quality and improve programme outcomes to bring sustainable changes in the lives of children and adolescents, especially girls.

The role :

As Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist you will be responsible to design and lead the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities in thematic areas as defined in the country strategy. You will develop theory of change (TOC), result framework and indicators to measure success in respective theme. In line with Programme & Influence Quality Policy (P&IQP) you will track output delivery and assess outcomes to understand programme progress towards achieving objectives, hold regular process monitoring, compile information and produce quarterly report for programme team and country management team to take decisions. Data quality assurance is one of the key responsibilities of this position holder. As M&E Specialist you will also provide effort for capacity building of staff at Plan and partner organisation to enhance their skill in programme monitoring.

 

What we’re looking for :

We are looking for a ‘to go’ and a passionate team member who has experience in developing and updating Theory of Change (TOC), result framework, log frame etc., at programme level and indicators to measure success for strategic objectives; ability to develop, communicate and implement M&E Plan for country programmes; develop data quality assurance mechanism and rollout. A University degree holder with four to five years’ experience in the similar role, preferably in development field.

Location : Bangladesh Country Office, Dhaka

Duration of contract : Core position, three years contract initially.

Salary : Gross salary with other admissible benefits like PF and Gratuity as per organizational policy
