Plan International seeks a dynamic leader and project strategist to fill the role of Communications Specialist for USAID funded Marawi Response Project to be based in Iligan City.
The Communications Specialist will support the achievement of the project’s goals and delivery of global and regional communications objectives via coordination, production and delivery of high-quality communications materials and activities that promote our advocacy agenda, help to raise children’s voices, document our programs, progress and milestones, and inform key stakeholders and the public about our work.
Responsabilités :
- Provide communications assistance, primarily to the Marawi Response Project, in the areas of Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Iligan and Marawi City ;
- Produce press releases and a range of compelling human interest child-focused content such as case studies, eyewitness accounts, blogs, first-person account, images, audio, video ;
- Package and position content for sharing with key audiences including external media, digital and social media, internal and key external stakeholders ;
- Provide support during media and donor visits ;
- Facilitate and provide support for project staff to strengthen their communication competencies.
Qualifications :
In order to succeed in a challenging and varied role, applicants must have extensive experience in the following areas :
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, development communication, journalism or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A related master’s degree will be an advantage ;
- At least five years of demonstrated experience working as a professional communicator; an experience of development and humanitarian issues affecting children and families preferred ;
- Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills ;
- Strong background in media relations ;
- Experience in producing and editing quality still photographs ;
- Strong organizational and team working skills, strategic planning skills, interpersonal skills, and technology savvy ;
- Fluency in written and spoken English is essential. Applicants must be eligible to work in the Philippines. Local applicants are preferred.
