The Organisation :

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.

We believe in the power and potential of every child. But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it’s girls who are most affected.

Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children.

We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood. And we enable children to prepare for – and respond to – crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.

We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 80 years, and are now active in more than 70 countries.

The Opportunity :

The Global Influencing and Partnerships (GIP) Department is responsible for Plan International’s external relations, communications, policy and advocacy functions. Within this department, the Global Partnerships Team (GPT) is the unit responsible for leading and supporting the cultivation, building and nurturing of strategic relationships and alliances with a wide range of stakeholders including private sector, foundations & trusts, the United Nations, international financing institutions, multi-stakeholder coalitions, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and academia. We are looking for an individual with partnership development experience to assist with the expansion of Plan’s global partnerships portfolio to include relationships with a range of multilateral agencies and Civil Society Organisations.

The Person :

You will be responsible for helping to maximise opportunities to advance both programmatic and advocacy collaborations that contribute to Plan International’s mission and purpose, as well as completing a range of duties to support business development efforts across the Global Partnerships team. With an eye for detail, you will be conducting research around relevant partners, global alliances, coalitions and multi-sectoral initiatives to strengthen our position as a leading girls’ rights’ organisation. You will then confidently communicate these  findings to senior members of the team. Maintaining effective relationships with colleagues and external partners will be crucial so as to convene cross-organisational meetings and workshops.
