PEG Africa seeks to recruit a global analytics manager
Who we are, and what we do?
PEG delivers Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) asset-based financing to consumers who lack both access to reliable electricity and formal banking services. PEG’s anchor product – a basic solar home system that includes six lights, a phone charger, a radio, and a TV – allows consumers living on $5-10 per day to access clean light for working and studying after hours, avoid harmful air pollution from kerosene based lighting solutions, and also build credit for additional products and services over time.
To date, PEG has raised over $50 million and has over 450 full time staff across Ghana, Ivory Coast and Senegal. PEG has also won numerous awards, including the prestigious 2017 Ashden International Award for excellence in sustainable energy, and was named as one of the “fastest growing companies in Africa” by the London Stock Exchange.

What characteristics are we looking for in our Global Analytics Manager?
- You have experience of leading global analytics teams across geographies and have demonstrated strong business understanding and problem-solving skills ;
- You have experience in developing long-term strategy and vision for analytics team and nail its execution ;
- You have a natural talent for innovation and mentorship, building and leading high-performing team ;
- You work well with virtual teams and adapt quickly to changing work environment ;
- You are able to prioritize effectively by understanding the needs of different business partners, investors and senior management team ;
- You act as a sparring partner to our Business Leaders with the use of data in order to make informed business decisions ;
- You build narratives around report processes and funnels using data that you collect and analyze ;
- You understand, create, maintain and own relevant business KPIs ;
- You help focusing from complex inputs to simple outputs and come up with innovative solutions ;
- You have a good business understanding and can visualize the relevant analysis requirements ;
- You feel comfortable in a fast, dynamic and constantly changing environment – you improve processes and you make things happen at the same time ;
- You raise questions and prepare your answers using statistical methods ;
- You are an advocate of using data to make better decisions ;
- You are a self-starter and also like to work closely with engineers, UI / UX, designers and product people.
What do we expect?
- University degree in International Business, Information Systems, Business Informatics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering or similar ;
- 5-8 years of experience in analytics preferably for a Fintech company ;
- Strong analytical skills and mindset, experience in leading global teams ;
- Advanced know-how in creating SQL queries and handling of at least one programming language, preferably Python ;
- Excellent proficiency in Excel, Experience with BI tools such as PowerBI or Tableau ;
- Structured and solution-oriented working style to drive projects efficiently.
Responsibilities Include
- Working closely with the group senior leadership team in providing them with required analytical support ;
- Managing and overseeing local reporting managers and building their technical skills and business understanding ;
- Managing group projects and initiatives while working with developers, external vendors and analysts ;
- Setting up robust understanding and troubleshooting practices around daily BAU reporting and analysis ;
- Coordinating end-to-end reporting and analytics requirements for all PEG investors and stakeholders ;
- Preparing and executing a fit for purpose individual development plan for all local team members ;
- Strengthening QA processes across the group and ensure continuous implementation of the same.
