The Role

Oxfam International’s Africa Platform is looking for a Partnership & Local Leadership Lead  to support country technical and senior management in development governance and resilience strategies for WASH and ii) working with the GHT to provide emergency response support to country programs and the regions to ensure they are prepared to meet public health needs in a timely and effective way. Wash in Oxfam Includes Public Health

Oxfam in Africa is looking to further advance our organisational change journey to more equitable, decolonialized and principled partnerships and support for local leadership. The Partnership and Local Leadership Lead (PLLL) will be key in achieving that mission, by developing and leading on the needed strategic and operational processes to help realize that much needed change. As such, the PLLL will ensure the institutionalization and refinement of partnership ways of working, partnership strategies, processes and guidelines, and manage potential risks that may evolve from partnership way of working in the different contexts under Oxfam in Africa.

Who we’re looking for

  • Proven knowledge and experience of scoping, brokering, building and managing partnerships with diverse civil society, public and private actors, including coalitions, consortia, and networks, and supporting Local Leadership, ideally in Africa.
  • Substantive experience in applying principles of partnerships and supporting organisations’ transformation to meet Grand Bargain, Charter for Change, and/or similar Partnership and Local Leadership commitments.
  • Proven experience of working with international organizations in conflict or crisis contexts, supporting local or national CSOs/NGOs’ roles, work, and leadership.
  • Experience in partner led approaches to programming and influencing and providing specialist advice in this area.
  • Experience in collaborating and partnering with national, regional, and local authorities.
  • Good communications skills and ability to facilitate reflection and learning process, capture and disseminate learning.
  • Fluency (C2) in English is essential, ability to communicate well (B2) in French is essential.
