Missions :

The Geologist participates fully in implementing all related exploration operations activities. He/she contributes in the procedures of obtaining new ventures within the Cameroonian territory.

Principal accountabilities and Responsibilities: 

• Contributes in implementing G/G Exploration Study and operations within the company:
• Participates in the preparation of G&G studies and well programs; ▪ Assists site Geologist offshore in supervision of while-drilling analysis;
• Ensures the role-out of post well drilling evaluation exercises;
• Assists to prepare management reports and internal control documents;
• Assist the Exploration Department in other scientific tasks.
• Sees into the smooth function in gand realization of pre-exploration drilling/seismic activities and participates in the sensitization of local and administrative communities during these activities.
• Contributes in the areas of articulating the development and production, external affairs and community relations.
• Contributes in the recording geologic of data with regards to the drafting of exploration operations related contracts and subcontracts.
• Ensures the smooth HSSE functioning of Exploration Operations.

Main Challenges: 

• The job holds a prominent level of responsibility, as the incumbent must ensure the quality of the deliverables.
• Revert to exploration management in professional and timely manner.
• Capable of going to offshore and for a period.
• Surveying and mapping geologically promising sites.
• Collecting, recording and analyzing samples and data from test sites.
• Advising on the development of reserves.

PROFIL RECHERCHÉ POUR LE POSTE : GEOLOGIST

• At least a B.Sc. in Geology or in any related field; however, an M.Sc. will offer an advantage.
• 2 – 3 years’ experience in Exploration Geology preferably in the oil & gas sector.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers.
• Good organisationalskills and positive altitude.
• Computer literacy and ability to analyse numerical and graphical data.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of an y geosciences software/application will be an ad d ed advantage.
