Summary:
MSI is currently seeking applications from qualified candidates for potential long-term and short-term technical staff positions for anticipated USAID-funded projects in sub-Saharan Africa, particularly in conflict and post-conflict affected countries such as South Sudan, Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and Somalia. Anticipated programs will focus on promoting peace and stability and engaging citizens and civil society at the community-level.
MSI seeks Technical and Operational Specialists in the following areas:
Candidates should have a strong background in working in austere locations within sub-Saharan Africa including, but not limited to South Sudan, Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Somalia, etc. Candidates should indicate in a cover letter his/her which position s/he is applying:

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree (preferred) in conflict mitigation, peace-building, public administration, political science, public policy, economics, gender studies, organizational and human development, financial management, or international development.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant technical experience, including strong project management skills.
- Demonstrated experience working with municipalities and local governance institutions, as relevant to position, preferably in South Sudan, Chad, DRC, Somalia or similar harsh locations.
- Demonstrated capability to work with a broad-range of local government, civil society and private sector stakeholders and partners.
- Prior experience working on USAID or other donor-funded technical assistance projects in sub-Saharan strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, management and reporting skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English highly desired; fluency in indigenous languages a plus.
