OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME

The Information and Technologies Management Unit (ITM) provides information and technologies management services to WHO programmes at regional level including 47 WHO country offices in the African region. The Unit is also responsible for the formulation, implementation, and coordination of ICT strategies and policies in the region.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

The incumbent, Collaborative Tools Engineering & Support, will assume the following responsibilities: • Act as the first level of support for collaborative tools by resolving issues and ensuring service quality is maintained. • Provide IT support including training for the African Region SharePoint and One WHO Global Intranet to SharePoint/Intranet Focal points. • Administer ITM intranet and SharePoint site and maintain site content. • Develop user guides on collaborative tools and provide training to end-users. • Stay up to date with Microsoft 365 good practices, new trends, and services. • Pilot alternative tools for enriching collaboration and engagement activities. • Collaborate with business analysis and dashboard design activities using tools such as Power BI. • Contribute to the design and implementation of new features and tools as required. • Develop user guides on collaborative tools and provide trainings to end-users. • Any other duties, commensurate with functions above, requested by the supervisor.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Essential: Completion of secondary school education and technical training in computer science or any other related field;

Desirable: Microsoft trainings/certifications will be an important asset.

Experience

Essential: A minimum of 10 years’ experience in delivering overall support in IT customer services and collaborative tools’ management and operations or website administration in public/private organizations.

Desirable: Experience with UN Agencies would be an added advantage.

Skills

  •  Experience with web servers and web hosting environments (e.g., IIS, Apache, Nginx).
  •  Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools such as SharePoint, Teams,OneDrive, Exchange Online, and PowerApps.
  •  Knowledge of web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics), SEO principles andweb security best practices.
  •  Familiarity with content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal).
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design principles.
  •  Strong skills in front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, Next and Typescript.
  •  Knowledge of back-end web development technologies, such as ASP.net, NodeJs,PHP, or Python.
  •  Familiarity with web development IDEs such as Visual Studio Code, PHPStorm, IntelliJ.

REMUNERATION

WHO offers staff in the General Services category an attractive remuneration package, which for the above position includes an annual net base salary starting at XAF 14,437,000 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
