ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT :

These jobs are found primarily in WFP Field based Offices, and job holders typically report to Programme Policy Officer or Programme Associate. The reporting lines may change depending on the size of the office.

At this level work is carried out under minimum supervision. Job holders are expected to produce organised and accurate technical work and reports. They may provide guidance on standard practices to other staff and counterparts in their area of work.

 

JOB PURPOSE :

To perform Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) monitoring activities within Chemba District of Sofala Province and provide reports to support the effective monitoring and delivery of the project.

 

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Education : Completion of secondary school education. A post secondary certificate in related functional area ;
  • Experience : Minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional work experience in community mobilization and engagement, mainly through community-based stakeholders ;
  • Language : Oral and written fluency in Portuguese and knowledge of local language (Xisena and Ndau).

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED :

  • Has experience synthetizing insights from the field, provide operational updates, and applying them to align field implementation ;
  • Has general knowledge of WFP monitoring and evaluation standards ;
  • Has experience in implementing Social and Behavior Change Communication package ;
  • Providing capacity building to community-based stakeholders such as community health workers, including community members.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive) :

  • Monitor project implementation at household level, of implementing cooperating partners and government partners ;
  • Lead weekly meetings with the cooperating partners to ensure updates are provided timely and challenges addressed. The field monitor reports back to Programme Associate in Beira field office for further advise and follow up on a weekly basis ;
  • Liaise with cooperating partners and internal counterparts to gather feedback and comments to support programme reviews and improve implementation ;
  • Support cooperating partners and district government counterparts providing capacity building to community-based stakeholders ;
  • Liaise with cooperating partners and other stakeholders on community engagement activities and ensuring alignment with other ongoing activities ;
  • Receive and collate comments and feedback from cooperating partners and beneficiaries, to support identifying programmatic issues with a view to fostering efficient operations ;
  • Provide guidance for cooperating partners on WFP operational practices, monitoring tools and methods in order to support them to complete monitoring tasks and to contribute to the visibility of WFP in the coverage areas ;
  • Prepare field mission reports to document programme implementation.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS :

This position is applicable only to Mozambican Nationals.
