Job Description:

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is an organization of 190 countries, working to foster global monetary cooperation, secure financial stability, facilitate international trade, promote high employment and sustainable economic growth, and reduce poverty around the world.

The Office of Risk Management (ORM) is responsible for creating an enterprise risk management (ERM) approach at the Fund. The risk data and Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) specialist will be responsible for the program management and implementation experience of a GRC platform to automate capabilities across the Fund’s ERM framework. Strong domain knowledge and experience in ERM is sought to ensure the current team is augmented with seasoned risk management professionals from a variety of institutional settings, including commercial banks and complex enterprises.  Risk management experience is occupational experience that leverages the opportunities and uncertainties associated with an organization’s goals and objectives. This includes implementing, developing and leading the risk management practices that enable an organization to make risk-effective decisions that create and sustain value.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages the deployment of GRC platform.
  • Designs and implements a cross-functional GRC tool with automated workflows that scale and provide measurable improvements.
  • Creates end-to-end process maps of ERM framework capabilities.
  • Designs a workflow to enhance user experience and provides clear distinctions between first and second line of defense functions.
  • Designs and implements a GRC data model that conforms to BCBS data standards, including GRC data objects and their relationships.
  • Works interactively with cloud operations and security teams.
  • Develops a state-of-the-art GRC user experience for first line users.
  • Designs data capture techniques through a variety of end user devices.
  • Oversees risk data and workflow management, documentation, and automation in conformance with Fund standards.

Advanced university degree in business, accounting, economics, finance, information technology, law, communications, organizational development, or a related field supplemented by a minimum of four years of relevant, professional work experience is required. Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree supplemented by a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience is required.

 

In addition, the ideal candidate demonstrates the following:

  • Has experience building risk data models with BCBS 239 requirements, understands end-to-end process mapping from the client perspective, and experience compiling and articulating user requirements.
  • Demonstrates keen sensitivity to the user experience and end-user adoption approaches.
  • Has solid experience in the implementation of GRC capabilities, including enhancing front-end user experience and back-end analytics and reporting.  Ideally, the candidate will have project/program management experience in implementing IT software solutions.
  • Has experience with data management system requirements and managing enterprise-level data.
  • Previous experience working with risk assessments, risk event data, metrics (KRIs, KCIs) and scenario analysis, and issue and action management.
  • Experience identifying and pursuing a vision for innovation opportunities that cross organizational borders or enlist external partners.
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate with others, initiate action plans, manage change, make impactful decisions, and complete challenging assignments.
  • GRC system program implementation experience.
  • Familiarity with AI and business intelligence tools that can be integrated with the GRC platform to allow risk analytics and real time interactive dashboards with gamification features.
  • Ability to quickly understand systems, situations, pressures, and culture to facilitate risk identification and assessment of potential failures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders and colleagues.
  • High degree of agility, flexibility, and adaptability.

This vacancy shall be filled by a 3-year Term appointment in accordance with the Fund’s new employment rules that took effect on May 1, 2015.
