REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
INDIVIDUAL GENDER CONSULTANT FOR NIGERIA COUNTRY DEPARTMENT (RDNG) and GENDER, WOMEN and CIVIL SOCIETY DEPARTMENT (AHGC)
Expression of Interest : Consultant Gender Expert
- The African Development Bank (AfDB) hereby invites Individual Consultants to express their interest as Gender Expert for Nigeria Country Department (RDNG) ;
- The services provided for this assignment include the following actions: (i) collaborate with program and project managers to propose the categorization of projects within the framework of the Bank’s Gender Marker System; (ii) participate in operational missions and the drafting of project documents in order to promote the implementation of the Bank’s Gender Strategy; (iii) work with gender specialists and project managers to develop innovative approaches to projects for the integration of women into the development process and projects with components relating to the promotion of gender equality; (iii) assess the potential impact of the proposed projects on gender equality and propose measures to reduce gender inequalities; (iii) contribute to the development of indicators for monitoring the impact of projects and programs; (iv) act as a peer reviewer of projects to improve the quality at entry and gender mainstreaming; (vi) contribute to the development of Gender Profiles and Country Diagnostic Notes; (vii) and contribute to the activities of other departments in the field of gender, if necessary ;
- The Nigeria Country Department (RDNG) and Gender, Women and Civil Society Department (AHGC) invite Individual Consultants to apply to provide the services described above. Interested Individual Consultants must provide information on their capacity and experience demonstrating their suitability for the services (documentation, reference of similar services, experience in comparable assignments, etc.) ;
- The eligibility criteria, establishment of a shortlist and the selection procedure shall comply with the Bank’s Rules and Procedures for the Use of Corporate Consultants. It should be noted that the interest shown by an Individual Consultant does not imply any obligation on the part of the Bank to include them on the shortlist ;
- The duration of the services is estimated at 6 months that may be spread out over a period of 12 months, and with possibility for renewal and start date scheduled in July 2022 ;
- Expressions of interest in English must be submitted to the address mentioned below or by e-mail, no later than 21 June 2022 at 17:00 hrs. WAT and expressly mention “Notice of call for applications for the recruitment of Consultant Gender Expert for Nigeria Country Department and Gender, Women and Civil Society Department” ;
- Interested international individual consultants can obtain additional information, during the Bank’s opening hours from 8:00 to 17:00 hrs. (WAT), at the following email address Recruit_RDNG@AFDB.ORG ;
- A shortlist of three to six Individual Consultants will be established following the call for expressions of interest. Consultants will be assessed against the following criteria on the basis of their updated CV :
- Level of education in general – 10% ;
- Level of studies in relation to the field of the mission – 20% ;
- Number of years of experience in general – 20% ;
- Number of years of relevant experience in relation to the assignment -25% ;
- Experience working in an international institution – 25%.
