The African Development Bank (AfDB) and Making Finance Work for Africa Partnership (MFW4A) invite Individual Consultants to indicate their interest in the following assignment: Associate Research Officer.
Brief Description of the Assignment :
The consultant will be part of the MFW4A Team and will report to the Knowledge Manager.
Specifically, his/her functions and responsibilities are, but not limited to :
- Conduct a weekly review of new research, policy papers, and other documents and select relevant materials and information for the Partnership’s website ;
- Develop and source original content for selected sections of the Partnership’s website, including, but not limited to country / thematic data, the donor projects database and financial sector development indicators ;
- In coordination with the rest of the Knowledge Management team and MFW4A pillar heads, support the development of new publications, knowledge products and innovative features based the Partnership priorities ;
- Support the preparation and delivery of MFW4A events and other work, through background research, preparation of reports and other documents / tasks as required ;
- Compile a weekly press digest on financial sector development news across Africa for distribution to Partnership members ;
- Provide knowledge content and liaise with the Communications Officer to prepare and disseminate the Partnership bi-weekly newsletter ;
- Prepare analytical notes on Africa’s financial sector ;
- Any other duties assigned by the Knowledge Manager or Partnership Coordinator.
The assignment will have an initial duration of six (6) months, renewable for up to three (3) years upon successful completion of the assigned tasks and the position is located within the MFW4A Secretariat in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. The commencement date is planned for July 10th, 2022.
Eligibility Criteria :
Individual Consultants are invited to show their interest in providing the services as outlined above by submitting their CVs detailing their qualifications, experiences, a list of references and a cover letter. Applications should be transmitted in one file only (PDF preferred), with CV no longer than three (3) pages and cover letter no longer than 1 page. Applications non-compliant with these guidelines will be rejected.
A shortlist of three to six applicants will be established at the end of the request for expressions of interest.
Establishment of the shortlist and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the Bank’s Procurement Policy and Procedure for Corporate Consultants Recruitment. Please note that interest expressed by an individual does not imply any obligation on the part of the Bank to include the individual in the shortlist.
