Responsible for implementing, supporting and managing end-user computing systems and services required to support the America’s IUCN Secretariat including the IUCN Regional Office for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean (ORMACC), IUCN Regional Office for South America (SUR), IUCN Washington DC Office, as well as all other IUCN out-posted, regional, country offices and special events and Congresses by participating in the Global IUCN “follow-the-sun” support approach. Responsible for planning, acquisition, implementation, maintenance, support and administration of PCs (laptops, desktops), tablets, mobile phones, VoIP phones, videoconferencing, printers, hardware, software, network equipment and peripherals within the Americas’ IUCN offices.
Information Management Services
-Develop and contribute to the development of End-user computing in the Union, software acquisition and application enhancement, in support of Projects and Programme implementation within the Americas’ IUCN regional operations and special events.
-Plan, manage and provide client support services related to Microsoft office applications, PC operations, standard global computing image and special software set-ups, training and troubleshooting for IUCN ORMACC, SUR, Washington DC and remote users.
-Evaluate client needs and service efficiency and effectiveness as part of on-going IT management for IUCN America’s offices. Interface with end-users to propose highly usable solutions integrated globally in order that IUCN can benefit from the productivity gains offered by technology.
System Administration
-Plan, organize and manage the end-user computing devices (hardware and software) infrastructure for the America’s IUCN offices in coordination with the Global Information Systems’ Technology & Service Delivery Group at HQ.
-Plan, set up and maintain IUCN ORMACC, SUR and Washington DC PCs, tablets, phones, videoconferences hardware, including hardware, software, backup, anti-virus, configuration, standard image(s); and desktop, PCs, laptops, and printers.
-Plan, set up and maintain standard client, MS Office applications, installations on LAN using SCCM, desktops, laptops, and provide user support and training.
-Ensure software compliance for all end-user devices within America’s IUCN offices, ensure security threats can be identified and stopped.
• University degree or equivalent in Computer field• Minimum 5 years’ experience in End User Computing environment using Windows based desktops and laptops (Windows XP, Vista, 7 and higher) and Apple iOS mobiles.
• Experience in Standard Configuration and Patch Management (using Microsoft SCCM) and Asset Management; Service Desk management tools and process
• Strong knowledge of recent Windows operating systems including Windows Server 2012.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory administration
• Knowledge of working with an ITSM tool for support purposes, knowledge of ServiceNow tool a plus.
• Good knowledge and experience in managing Microsoft Skype for Business environments including voice and video a plus.
• MSCE certification a plus
• Experience in managing multiple parties across multiple IT disciplines including Project Managers and third party vendors
• Fluent in English and Spanish required, knowledge of another language a plus
• Available to travel if required
• Strong problem analysis and solving skills
