ICRC  seeks to recruit a Health Field Officer – Garowe, Somalia

 

Job Description :

The Public Health Care (PHC) – Health Field Officer is the focal point for all matters related to the ICRC supported SRCS primary health care program in his/her area of responsibility. The Health Field Officer ensures that the health staff at Somalia Red Crescent Society (SRCS) clinics, under the support of ICRC in Somalia, are providing quality primary health care. In liaison with Health Coordinator oversees programs, plans and coordinates health activities at field level and participate actively in the health assessments.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Supports the Health Coordinator in maintaining and developing the relationship with SRCS as our main implementing partner in the field ;
  • Coaches and supports PHC/Nutrition SRCS Branch Field Officer (BFO) in implementation of the PHC program ;
  • Works in accordance with evidence-based health strategies in line with international standards, institutional guidelines, Somalia National Treatment guidelines and delegation priorities ;
  • Maintains networks with national key stakeholders into Somalia to ensure the efficient implementation of health programs ;
  • Contributes to revisions of health and nutrition databases and guidelines when the need arises
  • Updates the Health Coordinator on the progress of the programme and submits regular activity reports
  • University Degree in Medicine or Bachelor of Nursing qualification with sound knowledge on curative and preventive care,reproductive health and Nutrition ;
  • Significant knowledge of hospital management methodologies, including design, implementation, analysis and reporting ;
  • Team leadership and strong analytical skills ;
  • Ability to work autonomously ;
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite.
