Job title : Financial and Administrative Assistant

Under the supervision of the Head of Administrative & Financial Department

Job Location : Good Neighbors-Cameroon (Maroua Office)

Contract duration  : 12 months, renewable.

 

Context :

Good Neighbors Cameroon, an International non-governmental organisation working in humanitarian and community development based in Yaoundé, is launching a recruitment notice as part of the expansion of its activities in the Far North region of Cameroon.

Overview of the tasks :

Under the supervision of the Head of Administration and Financial Department, the Financial Assistant is responsible of Providing Assistance to the Accountant and the Administrative Department in running daily activities.He/she shall :

  1. Check and scrutinize invoices for accuracy and make sure all the legal information’s are there ;
  2. Follow up invoices payment (Internet, electricity,water bills Etc) ;
  3. Check all payments requests for purchases and procurements ;
  4. Assist in stock management altogether with Sponsorship Services Department ;
  5. Prepare all vouchers for review and approval (Bank Payment vouchers, income vouchers, deposits vouchers and petty cash vouchers) ;
  6. Assist in banks accounts operations ;
  7. Follow up all staff advances and prepaid expenses (Settlement of Travel expenses and Final spending summaries) ;
  8. Monitoring of Cash flows and preparation of  petty cash vouchers for minor project expenses, and conduct monthly petty cash management ;
  9. Assist the accountant in recording Monthly Financial Report ;
  10. Follow up payroll taxes and social contribution payment ;
  11. Follow up vehicles repair and maintenance, vehicle log book and fuel  ;
  12. Facilitate the administrative and financial procedures ;
  13. Liaise with cleaning services and keep an equipment inventory of all fixture ;
  14. Liaise with the Logistics to perform monthly, quarterly and annual inventory management ;
  15. Carry out other tasks as requested by the hierarchy ;
  16. React sensitively to emergency situations and issues.

Profile and Qualifications required :

  1. Very good Report and proposal writing skills ;
  2. Minimum 2 years experience in sponsorship services or project management ;
  3. Have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance, Accounting, Administration or any other equivalent degree ;
  4. Have good organisational skills (Good interpersonal skills and abilities) ;
  5. Good knowledge of QuickBooks is a strong advantage ;
  6. Fluency in Fufulde as well as in French and English will be an advantage ;
  7. Good computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) ;
  8. Be able to work under pressure, with clarity and good humour ;
  9. Be able to conceive, elaborate and write analysis and synthesis documents ;
  10. Be willing and available to travel to all Good Neighbors Cameroon project sites.

Constitution of the file :

Provide the following documents in French or English :

  1. Letter of motivation ;
  2. Curriculum Vitae with references attached ;
  3. Copy of academic qualifications ;
  4. Copy of work certificates ;
  5. Copy of the National ID Card ;
  6. Any other document proving experience in the field.
