Context :

Under supervision of the Senior Officer, Solid Waste project, the Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant is responsible for timely support in coordination of M&E activities of the projects. The assistant will follow established M&E plan and compile progress reports against the approved outputs of the project.

Purpose :

The Monitoring and Evaluation assistant will understand the approved project plan, outputs and the established Monitoring and Evaluation activities, and proactively collate relevant progress reports and information provided by the project team into an established M&E tool.

 

Engagement :

  • Under the guidance of the Senior Officer, Solid Waste project, familiarize and thoroughly understand the established M&E tool for the project ;
  • Collaborate with the project team, provide complete information, M&E requirements and ensure timely compliance with the established M&E plan.

 

Delivery :

  • Support development, refinement, and administer data collection ;
  • Organize programmatic data collection ;
  • Act as a focal point for country level M&E activities ;
  • Support analysis and reporting of M&E results across project components ;
  • Inform on evaluation design and implementation plans ;
  • Maintain databases and key program documents ;
  • Assist with the completion of M&E reporting requirements ;
  • Coordinate internal data meetings ;
  • Contribute to the preparation and updating of the annual work plan and budget.

 

Requirements :

Qualifications :

  • Undergraduate degree in Program Management, Public Policy, Economics or related fields. Specialized training or certificate in Monitoring and Evaluation will be a plus ;
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills ;
  • Prior experience in survey design and analysis ;
  • Experience working with data collection tools, especially in a programmatic context ;
  • Experience summarizing findings or lessons learned in an accessible written format for internal or external audiences (e.g., knowledge translation, donor reporting, or stakeholder trainings );
  • Experience with M&E metrics for programmatic assessment or improvement ;
  • Familiarity with Green Growth and Senegal context with solid experiences dealing with government counterparts ;
  • Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills ;
  • An excellent command of spoken and written English. Fluency in local languages is preferred.

  • Highly-organized and able to effectively and efficiently multi-task and prioritize ;
  • Excellent analytical skills and able to use economic assessment tools that value environmental and social costs and benefits ;
  • Flexible, adaptive and able to carry out multiple activities to tight deadlines ;
  • Excellent IT skills Experience  working with relevant M&E tools is an added advantage.  Excellent knowledge of MS office suite.
