Summary of the Position :

Provide administrative and technical or program support to Human Resources (HR) Team in functional areas including recruitment and selection, orientation, employee relations, HRIS, benefits and compensation surveys, training and staff development. Assist in coordinating the HR activities for the department and perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions :

  • Provides administrative support to the HR team in multiple areas and respond to standard employee inquiries ;
  • Processes forms and system updates related to new hires, change-of- status, performance evaluations, benefits changes, separations etc. Ensures employee data in HRIS is accurate ;
  • Provide support in ensuring compliance to all statutory labour laws and regulatory framework ;
  • Collaborate with supervisors to maintain and update an efficient HR database and monitor employee lifecycle and prepare reports for all metrics ;
  • Assist with coordination of employee Benefits enrollment activities and facilitate communication between employees and the Brokers or other service providers relating to the Employment Benefits provided by the Company ;
  • Implement with guidance human resource management strategies, policies and programs ;
  • Promote a healthy working environment for staff and management ;
  • Handle labor disputes and remedy any issues and employee might have ;
  • Inputs employee personal data into human resources information system (HRIS) database and generates reports as needed for HR staff ;
  • Conducts & coordinates new-hire orientations and may handle or facilitate employee exit interviews ;
  • Serves as back-up point of contact for employees with HR-related questions ;
  • Manage risk by being compliant with South Africa labor laws and recommendations ;
  • Stay abreast of all labor legislation and evolving needs of the employer and its employees ;
  • Offer support in other Regional Staff in Africa & Asia.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Good understanding of key HR principles and talent acquisition best practices including CV screening, candidate engagement, scheduling assessments with candidates, interviewing, onboarding ;
  • In- depth understanding and interpretation of the local labour law ;
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and flexible attitude towards shifting tasks and responsibilities ;
  • Ability to manage a large volume of work independently, accurately and in a timely manner ;
  • Analyze information quickly with good problem-solving skills ;
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, attention to detail, quality and deadline ;
  • Proficient use of Applicant Tracking Systems ;
  • Proficient user of data analysis tools such as MS Excel and other MS Office tools.

Position Requirements :

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Administration, Management, Organizational Administration, Public Administration, Labor Relations, Business Administration or a field closely related to the position. Three (3) years  of work experience performing professional-level human resources duties.
