Education
The typical educational background for a Reservoir Engineer is a bachelors or masters of science degree in Petroleum, Geosciences & Petrophysics, and Chemical. – BAC +5 or plus
Experience
- 3+ years of engineering experience in the oil and gas industry
- Experience in an oilfield as Reservoir, Subsurface Engineer, or Geoscientist
- Broad background in general oil industry processes
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Competencies
- Understand basic Reservoir Engineering principles
- Able to use or perform Decline Curve Analysis (DCA) for performance prediction
- Analyze well production and diagnostic data to predict ideal well performance
- Make recommendations on how to increase production from existing wells
- Able to recommend how to best deplete a reservoir through maximizing existing well
- Perform material balance calculations on reservoirs to estimate the reserves in place and depletion performance
- Perform economic analyses to support the profitability of various work proposals
- Present plans to management to obtain funding and endorsement to complete the work
- Analyzing well production and diagnostic data to develop computer simulations to predict ideal well performance.
- Making recommendations on how to best deplete a reservoir through maximizing existing well production or the drilling of new wells.
- Working with the other job functions, such as Geoscience, Subsurface Engineering and Facilities Engineering in an asset level team.
Language
Read, write and speak English especially as it applies to technical and business communication (TOEIC Level 5 minimum)
