REGIONAL HR MANAGER – WEST AFRICA

We have an immediate requirement for experienced, motivated, and professional Regional HR Manager for the West African market.
THE ROLE :
The Regional HR Manager will work with the General Manager – West Africa. The Regional HR Manager is accountable for all HR and Labour functions for West Africa region. The Regional HR Manager will coordinate the development, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of the Human Resource Management. This is a unique and senior level opportunity, working for a company with a clear vision.
Role requirements :
- Manage the HR functions of West Africa ;
- Ensure labour law compliance ;
- Manage new entity, project ramp up ensures labour law compliance, contracts, exemptions from labour ministries, national regulatory registrations and payroll setup ;
- Deal with Labour Cases, IR matters Court hearings and coordination if required ;
- Ensure that company is fully compliant with all employment document ;
- Provide support and supervision to National HR Manager/ teams for large scale recruitments ;
- Work with National HR Manager/ teams to ensure legal compliance in admin functions such as; work permit registrations and visa renewals for all countries within the region ;
- Conduct regular HR audits in countries within the region to ensure compliance to RI policies, procedures, systems and regulations as well as ensuring correctness of necessary documentation such as timesheets, leave forms and payrolls ;
- Manage the development, implementation, review and maintenance of HR Policies and Procedures ;
- Identify and provide relevant informal and formal coaching and training for the development of supervisory skills ;
- Provide information and advice to operations on human resource management matters ;
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, standards, procedures and rules ;
- Monitor and analyse labour budget ;
- Coordinating with National HR Manager/ teams for crafting organisation-wide objectives and strategies.
You will be required to have :
- A degree/ Diploma in relevant Human Resource Management field preferable ;
- A minimum of 5-7 years HR and compliance management experience, Mining and Drilling Industry preferred ;
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a senior/leadership role ;
- Experience working with foreign multi-national enterprises ;
- African and diverse Labour law knowledge ;
- Demonstrated knowledge of Human Resource Management systems, design and implementation thereof ;
- Successfully managed IR and Labour cases in Africa ;
- Labour budgeting and compliance ;
- Strong leadership and self-organisation skills ;
- Effective communication skills, both English and French preferable ;
- Ability to work autonomously, use initiative and be proactive ;
- Ability to adhere to deadlines and a pragmatic approach to work ;
- Excel knowledge (advance level) ;
- Must be willing to undertake frequent travel throughout West Africa.
