Learning & Design Specialist – Airside :

The Role :

As a Learning & Design Specialist, you will design initial and recurrent training course material for Airside team members across the Virgin Australia Operations Group. Further to Design, this role will support the Academy Trainers to deliver content to Airside teams as a secondary portfolio. You will be based at Brisbane Head Office and you will work closely with the Academy Design Team and Academy Training team.

As a Learning & Design Specialist, you will be responsible for :

• Implementing integrated learning and development packages for Airside teams that accurately reflect the needs of the business ;
• Design courseware including the definition of training objectives, delivery method (e.g. facilitation and computer-based), activities, content, media selection, and assessment instruments ;
• Review course feedback forms, safety investigations, safety data trends, and audit findings to make improvements or updates to courseware ;
• Network and maintain relationships with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from the frontline ;
• Assist in the mentoring & development of Academy Trainers ;
• Support with delivering classroom and practical training for the Airside team – Induction, Recurrent and Up-skilling training ;
• Maintain operational knowledge of the Airside role, airline regulations, and skills.

What you need to be successful :

• Bachelor Degree, Diploma, Cert IV qualification in teaching, adult learning, training & assessment or equivalent ;
• Demonstrated experience in course material design in Airline Ground Operations, specifically Airside ;
• Previous experience in training – classroom, practical, on the job ;
• Strong understanding of appropriate CASA regulations ;
• Exceptional interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to engage and deliver content ;
• Ability to collaborate and build long-term stakeholder relationships.
