The Role :
The Technical Operations team is responsible for maximising the availability of safe and reliable aircraft with minimal operational restrictions in compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory obligations. This is achieved through the strategic management of an integrated group of technical teams who support the operational needs of the Airline and the resolve conditions and issues impacting the fleet.
The objective of the Inventory Planning & Supply Performance Leader role is to ensure that Virgin Australia’s aeronautical product (material) requirements are sufficiently planned to deliver fleet on-time performance targets and minimise maintenance (scheduled and unscheduled) deferrals attributable to spares availability, whilst maintaining all regulatory and procedural requirements and minimising costs.
The role also provides oversight and co-ordination of the CAMO’s warehouse requirements, material stocktaking oversight and co-ordination as well as supply chain performance reporting to enable responsible parties to drive improved business performance and mitigate risk.
What you need to be successful :
- Minimum 10 years’ procurement or supply chain experience ;
- Airline or complex engineering & maintenance experience ;
- Significant expertise in strategic inventory analysis, planning and management ;
- Working knowledge of the CASR Part 42 Continuing Airworthiness Regulations ;
- Knowledge of Safety Management Systems ;
- Advanced statistical analysis to influence supply chain design & cost reduction ;
- Strong ability with Microsoft Office applications, e.g. Excel and Word ;
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills ;
- Proven ability to assess scenarios and plan outcomes in the most effective manner ;
- Proven ability to prioritise work requirements in an operationally fluid environment.
