The Role  :

The objective of the Technical Data Officer role is to manage, monitor & track the identification, registration, distribution and verification of technical publications and approved data and engineering policy & procedures manuals to support the Engineering and Maintenance operations of Virgin Australia.

In addition Technical Data Officer role involves :

• Processing of incoming technical data and information from external sources (OEMs, Other Operators) ;
• Processing of internal technical data and information ;
• Processing of engineering & maintenance related regulatory approvals ;
• Manage, control and updates of contents on Company iPADS/Applications ;
• Maintain and control of access to Original Equipment Manufacturers log-ins by Users.

 

What you’ll need :

• A diploma or equivalent in a relevant discipline, such as librarian, IT specialisations or suitable specific work experience relevant to this role − Detailed knowledge of technical library functions is desirable ;
• Excellent computer skills particularly Word, Excel & Visio − Minimum of two (2) years experience in a technical administrative role in an Aviation organization ;
• Management of hardware and software systems used for delivery of maintenance data electronically ;
• Ability to manage revision, authorisation, and publication cycles for various technical documents ;
• Ability to review and recommend improvements to procedure ;
• Ability to work in a team environment ;
• Sound communication skills, both written and verbal − Ability to coordinate and prioritise assigned tasks in a logical manner ;
• An awareness of documentation and/or technical data used by Engineering and Maintenance within an aviation environment ;
• Understanding of revision control, release cycle and document/data updates cycles.
