The Fleet Fleet Engineer Avionics Role :

Fleet Engineer Avionics role is to maintain continuing airworthiness through effective configuration control of aircraft avionics and electrical systems for the operated fleet types, and initiate preventive or predictive maintenance strategies to improve aircraft technical dispatch reliability. This is a varied role where no two days will be the same, but your focus will always be safety.

What you’ll need :

  • Significant experience in an airline Technical Services Department or Maintenance Repair Organisation ;
  • Experience in the assessment of service documents (AD, SB, etc) ;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of: (a) the regulations and standards applicable to aircraft maintenance programs and reliability programs. (b) regular maintenance requirements included in the instruction for continuing airworthiness for the aircraft. (c) the specifications and standards that have been used by the type certificate holder to develop regular maintenance requirements for the aircraft (d) the aircraft’s certification basis (e) the aircraft’s structure and systems, including the propulsion system, for the aircraft/engine type operated by the airline ;
  • Demonstrated ability to translate both Manufacturer and Regulatory requirements into clear and concise implementation instructions using Virgin Australia systems (i.e. TRAX, ECE/TraxDoc, ESR, etc) would also be an advantage ;
  • A degree in a related engineering discipline or relevant LAME qualifications ;
  • As a proactive member of the Technical Services team, you are expected to be self-sufficient and conduct your duties with reasonable independence.
