Context :

We have re-launched our business and are now the first airline in the history of Australia to emerge from administration. Our transformation journey will define the backbone of how we are going to play to win, regaining our share of the market, offering the right mix of the right product in the right way to outperform our competitors.

To ensure we achieve our ambition, we need the right person to help lead our transformation journey. We are looking for a General Manager Business Transformation that can bring experience, energy, charisma and leadership, working closely with our Executive team and our extended senior leadership cohort to drive our program with us.

In this role, you will lead a small team of enthusiastic experts, working in close partnership with the business, the strategy team and your finance colleagues.

You will be accountable for :

• Maintaining a maniacal focus on realising value and delivering on the full potential of the Group ;
• Working swiftly across the entire organisation to facilitate the ongoing identification of initiatives, feeding these into the transformation program and overseeing their timely progress value realisation ;
• Providing data-driven insights into the performance of the overall program for the Board, Executive team and broader senior leadership cohort, inclusive of clear and concise ‘calls to action’ as necessary ;
• Providing unwavering leadership of the ‘results rhythm’ way of working, that is critical to the success of the program ;
• Ensuring the the highest standard of data accuracy across the transformation program, to enable meaningful analysis and timely action, with a particular focus on the determination of value attributed to transformation initiatives ;
• Using your intuition to identify the need for, and taking action to engage with and coach busienss leaders as needed ;
• Line leadership, coaching and mentoring of the small team of in-house transformation experts.

To be a great fit for this role you will bring :

• High energy levels, a solution-centric mindset, leadership gravitas, a strong sense of team and a burning desire to engage with leaders at all levels of the business ;
• Strong influencing skills ;
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, ideally in a customer-centred, highly volatile and competitive industry/industries ;
• Experience as a senior leader leading large complex transformation programs and/or as a participant with accountability for participating in transformation programs ;
• Experience and a high level of comfort delivering results within an agile and ambiguous way of working ;
• Skills and experience in complex stakeholder management, change management, program management and business improvement (e.g. lean/six-sigma).
