About the role :

The objective of the Salesforce Platform Owner role is to lead and organise a technical team of permanent, contract and vendor resources involved in developing and transforming the approach to the Salesforce platform to deliver flexible and effective solution outcomes. The role will involve significant vendor management as the company increasingly transitions to a vendor-based delivery, testing and support model. The team, under the active leadership of this role, will be required to champion the Virgin Australia Salesforce platform, to implement system enhancements and projects; from interpreting requirements to successful delivery and provide support and advice to business stakeholders and end users. To succeed, you will be flexible in your approach, be able to prioritise and handle the dynamic changes of the industry, and build sustainable business and internal IT relationships.

 

Key accountabilities :

  • Plan and manage budgets appropriate to portfolio ;
  • Review all vendor statements of work to ensure they are in alignment to contractual requirements and keeping track of delivery ;
  • Seek cost saving opportunities ;
  • Coordinate the delivery of consistent and effective technology services and projects ;
  • Seek opportunities for improvements and champion changes to technology, including automation ;
  • Support both agile and waterfall ways of working minimising contention between teams ;
  • Draw on partner resources for the delivery of technology solutions ;
  • Ensure streamlined end-to-end processes that minimise handoffs within IT ;
  • Provide Salesforce users with technical support, troubleshooting and overall resolution ;
  • Coordination of the Salesforce Change Release management ;
  • Set clear expectations and ensure KPIs are in place for all team members, linked to organisational objectives ;
  • Communicate and align teams to ensure they are set-up for success ;
  • Provide coaching, development and training opportunities for all team members.

 

What we’re looking for :

  • Degree in Information Technology or related discipline ;
  • Salesforce technical certifications ;
  • A successful track record as a technology leader with strong salesforce experience with integration of Salesforce solutions with enterprise applications ;
  • Strong leadership, collaboration and stakeholder management skills ;
  • Experience working with prioritisation pipelines ;
  • Problem solving in a complex Salesforce environment ;
  • Communication and interpersonal skills, especially the credibility to have a positive influence on a range of stakeholders and lead high performing teams ;
  • Keep abreast of new Salesforce features and keep users and stakeholders informed about system functionality, solution deployments and feature releases ;
  • Understanding business and technical requirements, analysis, business process modelling and data mapping ;
  • Results driven, with a strong customer orientation ;
  • Vendor Relationships ;
  • Release Management ;
  • Change Management and effective communication principles.

 

Desirable skills :

  • Qualifications/certifications in ITIL, Agile ;
  • Salesforce Administrator experience ;
  • Experience with business partnering ;
  • Experience working with stakeholders throughout large migration projects, including adoption of new technologies ;
  • Negotiation both with internal and external parties ;
  • Leadership skills, especially in relation to leading technical teams in a business environment.

The Marketing Technology Centre of Excellence leads the strategic direction and provides product ownership of Virgin Australia Group’s marketing technology assets and associated data and integrations. The team sits within Velocity’s Platforms and Personalisation function, supporting both Velocity’s digital marketing, personalisation and loyalty solutions, and digital marketing and personalisation across the Group.
