Who we’re looking for full time and part time Network Controllers :

Love problem solving and puzzles? Good with deciphering and applying process and rules? Keen for a role where no two days are the same and you are always learning?

We need driven, reliable, independent and resilient people to join the Virgin Australia Network Control team. It’s a challenging role, with a lot of responsibilities – from ensuring we maintain a safe and on time flight schedule by working hand in hand with multiple stakeholders within the Integrated Operations Centre and Airport teams.

 

What you’ll be doing :

  • Co-ordinate all requirements to facilitate safe and efficient RPT flight schedule operations ;
  • Effectively and professionally communicate and engage with stakeholders at all levels, including executive and senior leadership teams ;
  • Make strategic, well planned and fact based decisions under pressure ;
  • Execute adequate and appropriate response to OTP threats ;
  • Operate various operations specific IT and communication systems and associated processes ;
  • Coordinate responses to medical emergencies, operational issues, schedule disruptions and disruption recovery ;
  • Ensure the best commercial and operational results are achieved with a critical focus on safety and ultimate customer experience outcomes.

 

What you need to be successful :

  • Is a self-starter ;
  • Understanding of centralised control systems ;
  • Demonstrated understanding of airline operations or similar operations control experience ;
  • Can work under pressure in an ever changing environment ;
  • Comfortable and confident in a Team environment ;
  • Is legally able to live and work in Australia ;
  • Has excellent problem solving and organisational skills ;
  • Can work a 24/7 rotating shift roster (including early starts, late finishes, weekends and public holidays).
