The Government of Ghana has received financing from the African Development Bank toward the cost of the Cocoa Sector Institutional Support Project (COSISP) and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this facility to payments under the contract for “Consultancy Services to Develop a Computer-based system to implement Feedback and Grievance Redress mechanism (FGRM), Update Manuals and Conduct Associated Training of Staff” of Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD).

Objective of the Assignment :

The objective of the assignment is to enhance COCOBOD’s response to environmental and social management issues through the development of a software for FGRM and training staff of COCOBOD on the system.

Scope of Assignment :

The services included under this project are :

  1. Assist the Environmental and Social management team of COCOBOD to update, validate and print Stakeholder Engagement Plan, training manuals and fliers for publicity ;
  2. Assist the Environmental and Social management team of COCOBOD to undertake training of Staff of COCOBOD at regional and district levels on the FGRM and Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP) ;
  3. Assist the Environmental and Social management team of COCOBOD to undertake awareness creation on the various environmental and social safeguards developed by COCOBOD ;
  4. Develop and deploy a software for the FGRM developed by COCOBOD and related matters.

The Ghana Cocoa Board now invites eligible Individual consultants (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services.

Qualified consultants must possess :

  • a minimum of Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Agriculture, social sciences, or relevant field ;
  • Certificate in Training of Trainers (master trainer), in sustainable agriculture, cocoa certification ;
  • at least 10 years of work experience in the cocoa sector of Ghana ;
  • Work experience in environmental and social safeguards issues of the cocoa landscape of Ghana ;
  • Have experience in developing and/or updating training materials to be used at Training of trainers and farmer level ;
  • Conduct trainings, including trainings (including ToTs) for field staff, middle-level officials of public institutions on cocoa sustainability and related matters ;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and a high level of diplomacy and professionalism.

The duration of the assignment is four (3) Months, to be based in Accra with trainings undertaken at the seven (7) cocoa regions.

Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s “Rules and Procedures for the use of Consultants 2020” (May 2008 Edition, Revised July 2012), which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org.
