The objective of the Data Architect  is to establish and scale an enterprise wide high-performing data architecture as well as the oversight of architecture and design of data related initiatives.

The Data Architect will bring thought leadership to the development and management of the enterprise Data Strategy, develop frameworks and guidelines for best practice data analytics and data engineering, and lead the requirements gathering for analytics and reporting platforms and solutions to meet business needs.

The role requires effective relationship management across numerous internal and external stakeholders and service providers, ensuring alignment across various business drivers and objectives.

** This role requires you to be ideally in Brisbane but happy to consider people in Sydney/Melbourne. **

 

Key responsibilities :

  • Define and maintain enterprise-wide architecture standards for information / data architectures ;
  • Develop enterprise architecture repositories across information, data, integration and technology domains ;
  • Provide cross-project information / data architectural monitoring ;
  • Ensure data management and architectural initiatives are technically viable and the benefits and risks are clearly communicated and understood by relevant stakeholders ;
  • Seek opportunities for improvements and champion changes to technology, including automation ;
  • Define & execute change management within the business related to data management processes ;
  • Ensure streamlined end-to-end processes that minimise hand-offs within IT ;
  • Supporting the establishment of an enterprise data management centre of excellence.

 

What we’re looking for :

Your proven knowledge of data architecture and management concepts will be highly regarded in this role. This background teamed with superior communication skills will ensure you build and manage effective stakeholder relationships, enabling the successful delivery of data initiatives.

Other key skills and experience required :

  • Experience in modern data architecture patterns and processes ;
  • Experience in creating and maintaining data architecture related artefacts i.e., Data Models, reference architecture patterns, blueprints, roadmaps etc ;
  • Knowledge in data architecture, conceptual knowledge of data warehousing techniques, big data and SQL, and database design key concepts ;
  • Knowledge of modern data platforms and information system technologies ;
  • Experience with solutions involving AWS, Databricks, and Power BI is desirable ;
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement ;
  • Experience in contemporary data platforms including Cloud based technologies.
