What you’ll be doing :

Our Pricing Analyst is a subject matter expert on a portfolio of markets and implement pricing strategies to achieve extraordinary results. We are passionate about championing better and continually striving to achieve the best revenue results possible. We are data driven and not afraid to challenge the status quo.

The Revenue Management department is responsible for ensuring perishable seat inventory (seats on our fleet of aircraft) is sold to the right customer for the right price at the right time. A seat that goes empty can never be sold again, so our challenge is to extract the maximum possible return for each seat.

 

Who we’re looking for :

Experienced airline pricing analyst with expertise in developing & delivering fare products in market to drive maximum revenue. Someone who facilitates continuous improvement in revenue by identifying opportunities thru market & competitor research.

Also if you have the following experience :

  • Use data and insight to create appropriate proactive and reactive pricing strategies to drive revenue improvements for your portfolio and the network ;
  • Monitor competitor activity in market and prepare a timely response for key markets / channels ;
  • Analyse VA data and external sources to understand key drivers of market performance and opportunities ;
  • Review RM reporting on a regular basis to make data driven decisions and pricing recommendations ;
  • Report on success of pricing strategies / campaigns in market ;
  • Liaise with pricing distribution team and internal departments for fare queries and commercial intent ;
  • Work closely with the pricing distribution team to file and action private fares and campaigns, rule changes and complicated filings.

 

You’ll be great in this role if you :

If you are a subject matter expert in airline fares, ticketing & fare filing, also engaged in developing & implementing pricing strategies to achieve best possible revenue outcome. Constantly being able to monitor market conditions and competitor activity to ensure Virgin Australia is competitive. Also, if you have the following :

  • At least 1 years’ experience in airline pricing ;
  • Experience in advanced airline pricing and fare coding via ATPCO Fares and Ticketing experience in Travel Agent or Airline Reservations environment ;
  • Proven experience in using data to create strategic pricing initiatives ;
  • Excel – intermediate (pivot tables, look ups etc)  ;
  • Knowledge of Australian Domestic and International markets and competitors.
