The Role :

Virgin Australia is seeking a data scientist to work within our Workforce Planning team.

The Planning & Improvement Analyst will work within the broader Workforce planning team and is responsible for providing insightful and detailed analytics to support our operational strategies.

The position is based at our Brisbane Head Quarters in South Bank and, you will work closely with the Workforce Planning Leaders.

As a Planning and Improvement Analyst you will be responsible for :

  • Conduct detailed analysis that support improvement and change initiatives and drive down costs, increase utilisation, improve lifestyle issues and fatigue management ;
  • Conduct analyses of business trends that impact resource requirements and provide potential solutions ;
  • Develop & automate reports using Power BI & EXCEL applications ;
  • Review and streamline reports and processes on a regular basis including increased automation ;
  • Modeling of cost savings on business initiatives.

 

What you need to be successful :

  • Advance user experience in Microsoft EXCEL, including building complex reporting ;
  • User experience in PowerBi ;
  • Previous experience working as an analyst in an operational environment ;
  • Experience in impact analysis and modeling driving financial outcomes ;
  • Ability to implement process improvement and drive change ;
  • Some experience in an airline or similar complex operational environment.
