Psychosocial Risk Management :
Through consultation with women and girls, and other relevant community members/MHPSS providers she/he will identify PSS risk; he/she (eg. suicide; sleeping problems, somatic manifestations for distress) will contextualizes and adapt group activities focusing on these signs with the support of the MHPSS supervisor and UNFPA MHPSS technical staff. He/she will also support awareness raising activities on these identified risks at a wider community level. Also the PSS Focal point can support WGFSS Facilitators and Case workers on providing crisis support, supervision when PSS needs are identified within the safe space.
Treatment of Psychosocial distress :
- Women and girls including GBV survivors presenting more specific PSS needs would receive PSS individual or Group counselling within Safe spaces at confidential and safe space.
- The PSS focal point/ counsellor will work in close coordination with Case Worker, Nurse, midwifes to ensure women and girls accessing these services have access to specialized MHPSS services if required ;
- PSS focal points will ensure referral to specialized services and will referred survivors identified on her work to case Management services ;
- Finally, PSS focal points/counsellors will be responsible for M & E of their activities with the support of the MHPSS supervisor and updated MHPSS services mapping on their coverage area ;
- Compile weekly and monthly reports and actively involved in MHPSS coordination meetings
Required Qualification :
- BA in Psychology, Psychiatric nurse, social work, sociology or other relevant fields ;
- At least two years relevant experience in delivering individual and group counseling services, and able to provide trainings.MHPSS and related areas ;
- Knowledge and experience on IASC guideline in MHPSS humanitarian response programming is an asset ;
- Knowledge of and ability to implement integrated emergency responses including MHPSS, CP and GBV ;
- Good knowledge of Women friendly space facilitation
Demonstrated flexibility and creativity in planning and problem solving.
