Maintenance Support Manager :

The Role :

As a Maintenance Support Manager your role will be accountable for the management of a multi-disciplined team providing various services to support aircraft maintenance. This role requires you to successfully manage the maintenance support functions efficiently and cost-effectively, aligning the required processes to support the Aircraft Maintenance Team.

The position is based at the Brisbane Hangar and you will report to and work closely with the Head of Aircraft Maintenance.

As a Maintenance Support Manager, you will be responsible for :

• Oversight of the training requirements of the Part 145 ;
• Management of the Part 147 Training Organisation ;
• Liaise with the VA Academy to ensure the needs of the department are met ;
• Liaise with both the Academy and the Manager, Aircraft Maintenance in each base to build the budget and published Training Calendar ;
• Create a culture of ownership and accountability amongst your team for engagement initiatives, people process, and other strategic people related initiatives in the business ;
• Manage the Tooling and GSE Inventory for Virgin Tech, including the purchase and maintaining of equipment ;
• Contribute to profit by reducing cost and ensure cost effective control of resources and facilities ;
• Contribute, develop, implement and monitor appropriate strategies and plans to ensure that the financial and operational performance of the functional organisation meets (or exceeds) identified corporate, regulatory and/or customer requirements ;
• Identify and develop appropriate strategic relationships with industry partners that are consistent with corporate objectives ;
• Develop, Implement and provide oversight of process instructions and Standard Operating Procedures to the support the Aircraft Maintenance Teams.

What you need to be successful :

• Demonstrated experience in leadership role within a maintenance function ;
• Tertiary qualification in a Aircraft Maintenance or Project Management ;
• Demonstrated experience in coaching and mentoring a team ;
• Demonstrated ability to influence and engage a variety of stakeholders ;
• Able to hold a CASA Part 145/147 Responsible Manager position ;
• Sound capability to research, problem solve and analyse performance ;
• Thorough understanding of the CASA and EASA airworthiness requirements.
